Trend Line not displaying on Sprint Burndown Chart

Dec 27, 2012 at 6:55 AM

Hi, I know there is a previous discussion(s) on this issue but I cannot find the solution in the response(s). We have several teams configured and I am a Scrum Master for two of them. My one team, the 'Front Office' team does not display the Trend Line, it never has yet my other team, the 'Connect Products' team does, and always has. As far as I know both teams were created and configured the same. The only difference is the Front Office team has sprint lengths of 3 weeks (always a Monday to Friday) and the Connect Products team has sprint lengths of 2 weeks (but can start and stop on any day of the week) and the team members are different.

I have attached some Screenshots below,

Any advice will be greatly appreciated as using the Burndown Chart is vital to our process.

Thank you
Kevin

I see you are using SfTS v2, which must mean you are using TFS 2008 -- correct?

Can you run the "Version" report and post the version number?

Hi holisticdeveloper, yes,TFS 2008,

"Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 Team System Web Access SP1
Version 9.0.3275.27270 (Team Foundation Server Client Object Model Version 9.0.30729.1, Asp.Net Version 2.0.50727.3643) on Microsoft Windows NT 5.2.3790 Service Pack 2"

Thank you
Kevin

I meant in Team Explorer, navigate to your project and run Reports > Version. This should run a report that is included with the Scrum for Team System template. For example, here is a snippet from mine:

Reports Version

I was thinking that maybe your report was out of date but it seems like the latest version.

I'm not really sure what else to suggest -- as I haven't seen this issue with my own use of the template. If it were me, I would probably try to debug the query behind the report and see if there were any noticeable differences between the two projects. (Note: you can find the report definition by navigating to the SQL Server Reporting Services site (e.g., http://tfs/Reports) and then going to Project > Sprint Burndown Chart > properties > General > Edit.)
